Presentation Title:
Who is causing the QRM,
is it your TX or RX
Presentation Summary:
Malcolm Levy, KO6SY, will speak on the causes of QRM caused by strong
signals from other Amateur Stations especially as they relate to large signals
on VHF, the same principals also apply to HF so this presentation should be
of value to operators across the spectrum. There are many times when you want
to curse at some station 10KHz up the band who is very strong and causing
you problems. Have you ever stopped to wonder if it is really him or could
it be your receiver. The presentation will cover the reasons for these problems
and give you some ideas on how to cure them.
Speakers Background: Malcolm was
first licensed in 1969 as G8CSU, a British VHF only license. He upgraded to full privileges in 1971
with the license G4ACU. In the
late 1970s he built his first rig, a 2-meter SSB station. Still interested in home brewing, he designs
and builds VHF and HF rigs. KO6SY has resided in Southern
California for the last 20 years.
